Condolences – Pr Barbara Aitken

Pr Barbara Aitken

It was a shock to hear of Barbara’s passing some days ago. The thoughts and prayers of all the Pastors and Churches in the CRC  are with her family at this time, and particularly with her partner in ministry, Pr. Don Aitken.
Across so many years Don and Barbara partnered together in ministry, touching thousands of lives in many countries. Their commitment to the area around Geraldton of course has been significant. Barbara will be dearly missed by many, both in the Geraldton church and around the region.
The CRC movement across Australia honours Barbara for her colleagueship in Jesus and the ministry she has expressed. I can remember back to those early years in Gippsland. What an amazing birthplace for so many into ministry! Don and Barbara were part of a great move of God that has continued to bring impact far and wide. The CRC appreciates them both for their leadership and the sacrificial giving of themselves over so many years.
Whilst the distance in WA from other CRC churches and pastors may have meant Barbara and Don were remote and perhaps not able to connect as frequently as others, we know they were an important part of our Movement’s fellowship. Seeing them both at conferences was always special as was receiving their regular ‘Prayer Letter’ from ‘Prayer Chapel Ministries’, with news of all Don and Barbara were up to.
The future may as yet be unclear for Don, but we do pray that the Lord will lead and guide him into many more years of effective service. I’m sure Barbara’s life will continue to inspire Don and many others in all the Holy Spirit has in store.

Please know of the CRC’s continued prayer and support.
